Craven Announce New Partnership with Cambro

Storage and handling experts Craven & Co Ltd. is pleased to announce its partnership with global manufacturers, Cambro, bringing a wider product range to their ever-growing client base. Craven will be one of the few companies in the UK to bring their clients the Camshelving Elements Series from Cambro, whilst also offering the best value.

Craven has now received their first shipment of Cambro storage and handling products to kick start their new partnership. This new pairing will enable Craven to supply a wider range of products to the medical and foodservice industries, and the company will be adding continually to their range throughout the year.

Cambro products will be the perfect match for Craven’s ever growing catalogue, with the first batch being the Camshelving Elements range. Craven & Co Ltd. will be the one of the few businesses in the UK to offer this range of products and will also bring great value to their loyal clients too.

Director of Craven, Noel Baker, is confident this new partnership will bring great opportunities for growth over 2020. He said: “It’s a very exciting move for us. Both Craven and Cambro share similar backgrounds in manufacturing, and it’s positive that we can create this partnership with our clients in mind.”

Wes Dance, also a Director of Craven, is equally as optimistic about the partnership, adding: “This partnership will help us to provide much needed products to our clients, without compromising on the quality we’re well known for. It’s the perfect pairing and we’re really excited for what’s to come throughout 2020 and beyond.”

Cambro already provides the industry with a wide selection of products for diverse segments of the foodservice sectors. Craven will slowly incorporate more of Cambro’s products into their own range of storage and handling products in the UK in a bid to reach their higher goal of becoming a leading distributor of premium catering and medical equipment.

Craven & Co Ltd are the UK’s leading designer and manufacturer of high-quality, British-made storage and handling solutions. With over 60 years of experience combined with the latest technologies, they offer space-saving design and innovation in storage and handling. They cater for a wide range of industries, including catering, health care, retail and education to name but a few.

Craven’s storage and handling products, including the new Camshelving Elements range by Cambro, are available with a 1-5 day delivery time and their team is always available to answer any questions or queries.

Craven is proud to have been recognised for our support of the NHS in the press this month. Several media outlets acknowledged Craven’s latest manufacturing project: making and distributing medical equipment for the five new Nightingale hospitals across England.

In April, Craven’s work with the NHS earned us a place in Insider Media, Harrogate News, BDaily, The Yorkshire Post and StrayFM Online, all of which noted our fast-tracked production capabilities and our bespoke IV stands, designed specifically for use in the Nightingale hospitals.

Over the past few months, the Craven team has been diligently working behind the scenes to offer support to our frontline NHS services.

We have been making and distributing 800 intravenous (IV) drip stands every day, we have delivered 4,000 IV stands to the ExCeL in London, and are currently manufacturing a further 8,500 to the Nightingale hospitals in Harrogate, Manchester, Birmingham and Bristol.

Craven is also delighted to have fulfilled all of Harrogate’s shelving and storage requirements and the majority of Birmingham’s, after producing and distributing over 1,000 trolleys, shelving and other medical equipment to all five hospitals.

We would like to thank all the individual press outlets for publishing our latest venture. We couldn’t be more satisfied with April’s press exposure.

Just like many businesses trying to get used to a new normal throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve really had to adapt. No business could have prepared for what we’ve all been through over the last few months, with many regrettably being forced to close their doors for good or for the foreseeable future. We wanted to reflect on how we handled things over this period and also how we did our part to manufacture and distribute much needed equipment to hospitals across the UK.

How has it been for us?

When the UK lockdown was first issued back on 23rd March, Craven lost 95% of catering and retail business overnight due to closures and protective measures for the public. We were forced to adapt to this change, putting our own protective measures and social distancing guidelines in place for our own staff. Our dedicated team did what they needed to do to ensure business continued, and is something we’re still doing to provide the best possible service to our customers.

Our work with the NHS

With essential equipment in short supply, the NHS needed extra help to keep up with demand. Craven were approached and urgently asked to provide IV drip stands for a range of NHS hospitals across the country. Our team have worked tirelessly in this time to design, test, prototype and manufacture these products, as well as other equipment such as shelving, and ensured they were manufactured and distributed to NHS hospitals.

With the dedication and teamwork of Craven staff, we were able to create over 12,500 IV drip stands, manufacture 1,000 modular shelves in a single week and 1,400 storage shelves for NHS Nightingale hospitals.

Interviews and publications

Our Managing Director, Noel Baker, was interviewed by Radio York back in April to discuss Craven’s work as part of the NHS supply chain, explaining what has been done to help the NHS in England up to this point, and also what the future holds for business during this time.

We were also featured in a range of publications where we explained our process for helping the NHS and exactly what we were able to manufacture and distribute. You can read these articles on the following sites:

From British wit to British history, countrysides to cuisine, this little nation has so much to celebrate. That is why, as a distinguished British brand, we are proud to flaunt our Yorkshire manufacturing processes.

At Craven, we are honoured to serve this great nation of businesses. Our brand is transparent in its production processes: we source a lot of our materials and resources locally and unlike most, we are looking to obtain an equal balance of price and quality of materials when manufacturing.

So many people ask us, why are we so eager to source locally? There are many reasons why our team endeavour to maintain this reputation and today we would like to share them with our customers.

A boost to the economy is a boost to us all

In this uncertain economic time, it is key that we all come together to boost our economy by shopping local. By sourcing as many of our materials in the UK, as we can, we are doing our part to support the British manufacturing economy.

High-quality materials

One of our top objectives is to satisfy our customers; this is accomplished by purchasing high-quality materials for our products. That way we can ensure durability and longevity of the products we manufacture, fulfilling our customers’ needs.

Faster shipping

By sourcing locally, Craven meet customer demands through shorter lead times. This means we can provide high level service and development on a much wider scale. If a customer would like an alteration to their product, we can access the resources to make this change promptly and provide the best customer service possible.

Proud of home-grown heritage and our manufacturing expertise, we are committed to providing high-quality, innovative products made in the UK.

Now that’s something to celebrate.

Craven would like to introduce you to our brand new website which marks our first step of business development for 2020!

The decision to launch a new website was made as part of Craven’s continuous efforts to improve our service that we provide for customers.

Recently, we celebrated our 60th anniversary in the business after Craven was founded back in 1958, and although times have changed a lot since then we like to ensure that we’re keeping up with the ever-changing industry and the modern world of today.

As a business that puts our customers first, we believe that our website should reflect this vision and should act as a portal of information on what we do and what our business is all about.

Noel Baker, MD of Craven, said: “Our new website is just the start of some fantastic plans we’ve got scheduled for this year, and now we’ve got the website launched we can get the ball rolling with everything else.

“We are all very much looking forward to unveiling the rest of our plans later in the year, in which we hope to see a positive change in the business as we continue our work in developing the company even further whilst maintaining our traditional values of being a quality British manufacturer working across a range of sectors.”

If you haven’t already, check out our new website where you can find information on our bestselling products, case studies and the different sectors which we work within.

We’re now into the New Year and Craven had such a great year last year we’re hoping 2020 will be even better for the team!

So much happened for us in 2019; we introduced new staff, featured in the industry press and took part in charity fundraisers.

However, we couldn’t forget the fact that we  recently celebrated our 60th anniversary in the business which was a huge achievement for the Craven team.

Being in the business for over 60 years, times have definitely changed and Craven have made sure that we have moved along with the times by adopting a modern business approach and using the latest manufacturing technology and equipment.

We’ve got a fair bit planned for this year, and we’re looking forward to getting stuck into everything we’ve got lined up for the upcoming months.

At Craven, we put our customers first and we like to make sure we’re doing everything we can to make them happy, providing a bespoke service to tailor to each and every one of our customer’s needs.

We also like to make sure that we’re keeping our customers updated with everything that’s going on with the business and anything else we feel our customers should know.

To keep up with this, Craven will be making a conscious effort to ensure that we are constantly connecting with our customers on a regular basis by posting more on social media, sending out email updates and writing weekly blogs due to the addition of our new blog page on our new website.

Our new website is just the first phase of our development plans for 2020, and we can’t wait to unveil to you all what else we’ve got planned for this year.

Craven would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our customers a Happy New Year and we hope that 2020 brings you much happiness and success.

Here’s to a great year!

Here at Craven Solutions we’re always talking about how our products are durable, versatile and built to last. We are always happy to be able to put that to the test.

In the last few days we’ve fielded two particular calls about our Nylon shelving that is being used on a day to day basis.

One set is being used in a commercial kitchen in London. We can tell from the design of the grippers  that it is at least 17 years old. The user only wanted some replacement grippers as the shelving was still fine after all these years!

We later received a call that trumped this – not that we’re competitive. A customer had bought our Nylon Shelving at an auction of surplus equipment in the early 90s and they wanted to know if we could provide them with some additional shelves. Even though the bays were still in perfect working order.

A combined 42 years of service from our shelving units. That would pass any test!

We love interactions like this with clients especially after so many years of service. It proves that our products really are durable and built to last. If you’re interested in learning more about our products, then call us on 01423 796 200 or email info@craven-solutions.com and we’ll be happy to help.
